After working with hundreds of weight loss clients over the years I have identified the 6 most popular weight loss topics. This article explains them.

I’ve written about weight loss before, but I’d like talk about it in more detail today. There’s an old saying that goes something like this, “Until your disgust and dislike of the status quo is greater than your disgust and dislike of making change, nothing is going to change.”

It sounds obvious, but for a lot of people who want to lose weight, the idea of actually changing their behavior is unacceptable. They want to lose weight, to be smaller, to look better, but not at the expense of changing their eating habits, and for many, certainly not if they have to exercise! It just seems too hard, and for many, after repeated attempts and failures, it’s just not realistic.

This is where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis is NOT a magic wand, but for those who understand, and accept, the fact that they need to change their relationship with food, it can make that transition much quicker, more enjoyable, and permanent.

After working with hundreds of weight loss clients over the years I have identified certain patterns and similarities in regard to weight loss obstacles. Eating regularly scheduled meals just makes sense. Developing a routine of eating three meals and two snacks each day is a good idea for a variety of reasons. Hypnosis can help you to establish an eating routine, and maintain it long-term.

If your goal is to lose weight, it just makes sense to develop a “habit” of eating on a regular schedule. Most of us are familiar with what happens when we don’t eat enough and our bodies go into starvation mode. It stands to reason that eating three meals and two snacks each day will keep us from getting too hungry, and bingeing on foods that are not good for us.

But did you know that if you include protein in each of those three meals and two snacks you can stabilize your blood sugar and minimize, or eliminate, unnecessary cravings? It’s true! In addition, developing the habit of eating healthy nutritious foods in the just the right amounts, at just the right times all through the day, can also improve your mood.

The types of food we eat, along with the amounts have an effect on our outlook. According to this article there is a strong connection between negative moods and disordered eating habits. It makes sense that if you put junk in your body that you’re not going to feel well. However, I think the psychological effects of unhealthy eating are just as responsible for the negative moods as the chemicals in the food.

When you are not in control of your eating habits and you have a weak moment of binge eating you just feel rotten. You feel frustrated, angry, hopeless, and out of control. Many of my weight loss clients have experienced this level of negativity in relation to their eating patterns. Hypnosis is a very effective way to develop the habit of eating regularly scheduled meals and snacks. Control your hunger, and your mood, and let hypnosis show you the way!

You may be interested to know that we all experience self-hypnosis several times each day. Wouldn’t it be nice to be aware of the ways in which you are hypnotizing yourself, so that you can deliberately choose which habits and behaviors are running the show? Learning how to use self-hypnosis deliberately can do just that!

When we talk about hypnosis, we’re talking about the co-mingling of the conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind, as if there are two minds. Well of course there is only one mind, and so it’s more accurate to speak of conscious processes and sub-conscious processes. A conscious process is something you do, or think about, consciously. Conversely, a sub-conscious process is something you do automatically, kind of like being on autopilot. When it comes to healthy eating and maintaining weight loss, the holiday season can be the most challenging time of year for many people. Improve your chances of success by identifying specific situations that you find most challenging. Is it the annual office party; the abundance of sweets and treats in every direction? By planning now and incorporating hypnosis into your strategy, you can enjoy the holidays and easily maintain your weight into the New Year.

School has started and Halloween is just around the corner. The Holiday Season is upon us. It seems like this is the time of year when we are most vulnerable to excess food availability and increased social gatherings.  This is the perfect time to plan a strategy that will allow you to enjoy the holiday season without gaining a pound! It’s all about planning; pre-paving the road that will take you into and out of the holiday season in style. It’s great if you can actually lose weight during the holidays, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Hypnosis is all about habit change, and/or habit reinforcement. The idea is to make a plan and decide ahead of time how you want to handle specific circumstances in regard to holiday eating. Decision-making is an art, and like most things in life, the more you do it the better you become at doing it effectively. Increasing the number of decisions you make also increases the risk of making a wrong decision occasionally.
