Modeling healthy eating habits for our children helps prevent them from becoming junk food addicts and has a greater influence than the mother’s eating habits while pregnant .

It is common knowledge that what we consume, or whether or not we smoke, when are pregnant will have an effect on our baby. So it makes sense that if a pregnant mother consumes a diet rich in junk food, that the baby may be effected by the quality of nutrients. The following study suggests that pregnant mothers who consume junk food actually cause changes in the development of the opioid signaling pathway in the brains of their unborn children. This change results in the babies being less sensitive to opioids, which are released upon consumption of foods that are high in fat and sugar. In turn, these children, born with a higher “tolerance” to junk food need to eat more of it to achieve a “feel good” response. While I agree that the consumption of junk food while pregnant is not healthy for mother or child, it seems to me that the eating habits and lifestyle of the family unit after the baby is born has more influence on whether or not a child becomes a junk food addict. In other words, modeling healthy eating habits for our children helps prevent them from becoming junk food addicts and has a greater influence than the mother’s eating habits while pregnant. Learning about nutrition is interesting and fun, and learning to like new foods can be enhanced with the use of hypnosis. Hypnosis is about behavior change, and eating is one behavior we have participated in since the day we were born! Almost all the clients I’ve worked with in regard to weight loss have had an addiction to one or more categories of junk food. Hypnosis is a very effective way to eliminate the cravings for junk food, thus eliminating the addiction.

I’d like to believe that it’s never too late to learn about nutrition, and model that behavior for our children and grandchildren. If you feel that you are addicted to sweets, or chips, or anything that is not good for you, hypnosis can help.
