The 6 Most Popular Weight Loss Topics

December 11th, 2013 § Comments Off on The 6 Most Popular Weight Loss Topics § permalink

After working with hundreds of weight loss clients over the years I have identified the 6 most popular weight loss topics. This article explains them.

I’ve written about weight loss before, but I’d like talk about it in more detail today. There’s an old saying that goes something like this, “Until your disgust and dislike of the status quo is greater than your disgust and dislike of making change, nothing is going to change.”

It sounds obvious, but for a lot of people who want to lose weight, the idea of actually changing their behavior is unacceptable. They want to lose weight, to be smaller, to look better, but not at the expense of changing their eating habits, and for many, certainly not if they have to exercise! It just seems too hard, and for many, after repeated attempts and failures, it’s just not realistic.

This is where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis is NOT a magic wand, but for those who understand, and accept, the fact that they need to change their relationship with food, it can make that transition much quicker, more enjoyable, and permanent.

After working with hundreds of weight loss clients over the years I have identified certain patterns and similarities in regard to weight loss obstacles. I’ve narrowed these patterns and similarities down to six and created not only a 6-pack of hypnosis recordings addressing each topic, but also a 12-hour weight loss workshop that addresses each topic in detail. How to Get the Most out of Self-Hypnosis

March 26th, 2013 § Comments Off on How to Get the Most out of Self-Hypnosis § permalink

OK, so you learned how to do self-hypnosis (Self-Hypnosis is Easy and Fun!), you know about creating positive suggestions for yourself, but, do you know how to get the most out of self-hypnosis and really get to the bottom of what you want?

In my practice at Intuitive Hypnosis in Portland, Oregon, I use an approach with my clients based on a Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) outcome frame. It is an excellent tool that I use with almost every client to help us narrow down exactly what they want as a result of their hypnosis treatment.

The NLP outcome frame has a lot of questions, all of which I use with clients in my office. I have narrowed down the questions to the most important, in my opinion, to include when combining with self-hypnosis. By learning to use this NLP outcome frame to create your outcome statement, you can learn to expertly define exactly what you want as you practice self-hypnosis. » Read the rest of this entry «

Self-Hypnosis is Easy and Fun!

You may be interested to know that we all experience self-hypnosis several times each day. Wouldn’t it be nice to be aware of the ways in which you are hypnotizing yourself, so that you can deliberately choose which habits and behaviors are running the show? Learning how to use self-hypnosis deliberately can do just that!

When we talk about hypnosis, we’re talking about the co-mingling of the conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind, as if there are two minds. Well of course there is only one mind, and so it’s more accurate to speak of conscious processes and sub-conscious processes. A conscious process is something you do, or think about, consciously. Conversely, a sub-conscious process is something you do automatically, kind of like being on autopilot. Hypnosis is a process of bringing the two together so that you’re in charge of those automatic behaviors. » Read the rest of this entry «

Using Hypnosis to Maintain Your Weight throughout the Holiday Season

September 25th, 2012 § Comments Off on Using Hypnosis to Maintain Your Weight throughout the Holiday Season § permalink

When it comes to healthy eating and maintaining weight loss, the holiday season can be the most challenging time of year for many people. Improve your chances of success by identifying specific situations that you find most challenging. Is it the annual office party; the abundance of sweets and treats in every direction? By planning now and incorporating hypnosis into your strategy, you can enjoy the holidays and easily maintain your weight into the New Year.

School has started and Halloween is just around the corner. The Holiday Season is upon us. It seems like this is the time of year when we are most vulnerable to excess food availability and increased social gatherings.  This is the perfect time to plan a strategy that will allow you to enjoy the holiday season without gaining a pound! It’s all about planning; pre-paving the road that will take you into and out of the holiday season in style. It’s great if you can actually lose weight during the holidays, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you can focus on maintaining your current weight into the New Year, you’ll be ahead of the curve and will have created a strong foundation of health and fitness for 2013!

Hypnosis is all about habit change, and/or habit reinforcement. The idea is to make a plan and decide ahead of time how you want to handle specific circumstances in regard to holiday eating. Once you have a plan you can reinforce that desired behavior using hypnosis.  Using hypnosis is a great way to maintain your focus on healthy eating in all situations by remaining mindful and focused on your long-term priorities. The key is to make that plan now for future success! » Read the rest of this entry «

Decision Making vs Wishful Thinking

We’re all faced with great possibilities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations” — author unknown.

Decision-making is an art, and like most things in life, the more you do it the better you become at doing it effectively. Increasing the number of decisions you make also increases the risk of making a wrong decision occasionally. Nevertheless, it is clear that those who make decisions on a regular basis are those who find more success in life, due to the fact that they take more risk, make more decisions, and thereby provide more opportunities for success.

At Intuitive Hypnosis, some of the most frequently asked questions from clients are, “Will this work for me? Why does hypnosis help some people and not others? What can I do to ensure success in reaching my goals?” » Read the rest of this entry «
